Grit Psychology and Michelle Neustaedter Counselling (Calen Jobson) – Registered Provisional Psychologist - Sport & Performance Psychology. 403-999-4332
As a former Xtreme and Bisons player, Calen's firsthand experience with the intense physical and psychological demands of competitive hockey has shaped his unique approach to counselling through seamlessly integrating trauma-informed methods with the principles of sport & performance psychology. This blend has allowed him to deeply connect with individuals facing similar challenges. His caring nature shines through in the way he tailors his techniques to meet each individual's specific needs, fostering a sense of trust and empowerment in the process.
His approach primarily stems from the perspectives of the adaptive information processing model – EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), ACT (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy), CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), Solution-Focused and Mindfulness modalities. While these techniques are often used for general mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, stress, trauma and relationship issues, Calen’s unique integration of methods can serve as a catalyst for enhancing a person’s performance in sports, academics and any vocation. As a preferred practitioner, Calen is pleased to offer a 10% discount for any AEHC members at both of his Airdrie workplaces (Grit Psychology Inc. and Michelle Neustaedter Counselling).
